HostMuse LLC ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services (collectively, "the Service"). Please read this policy carefully. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described herein.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in via Google, your name and profile photo. We store a hashed version of your password if you use email/password authentication.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. We receive and store a Stripe customer ID and transaction metadata (amount, product purchased, date).

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, features used, listing projects created, and interactions with AI tools. This helps us improve the product.

Photos and Content

When you upload photos for room analysis or virtual staging, images are processed through third-party AI services (fal.ai) to generate results. We do not permanently store your uploaded photos. Generated virtual staging images are temporarily stored to deliver results to you.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We may use analytics tools to understand usage patterns. We do not sell your data to third-party advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • To process payments and manage your account
  • To send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, password resets)
  • To respond to support requests
  • To detect and prevent fraud or abuse
  • To analyze usage trends and improve user experience

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Stripe - for payment processing
  • Supabase - for database hosting and authentication
  • fal.ai - for AI image processing (virtual staging)
  • Vercel - for application hosting
  • Amazon Associates - affiliate links generate referral data when you click shopping links

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger or acquisition.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Listing project data is stored as long as you maintain an account. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely in aggregated form.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure authentication via Supabase, row-level security on database tables, and secure payment processing via Stripe. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (GDPR "right to be forgotten")
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Children

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The updated policy will be effective upon posting with a revised "Last updated" date.
